Updates 2021:

FallCamp is still ON!
As we quickly approach time for FallCamp we are keeping an eye on state and local laws and we are looking forward to seeing everyone soon.  Due to health concerns we are still taking all precautions possible.  If you or anyone in your party is ill or becomes ill please do not attend.  We can reserve your tuition to next year if we are notified by Oct 6th.  After that date we will be on-site and will not have access to reliable electronic communication.  If you become sick at camp please notify us, limit your contact with others, and pack up and head home.  We are leaving it up to you, as individuals, to care for yourselves, take needed precautions for yourselves and others, and to mitigate risk.  As stated before, if we are forced to cancel FallCamp altogether we will refund tuitions in-full.  We have not closed registration and we will likely not do so until Oct 3rd if registration numbers remain consistent with recent weeks.

Fire Ban is currently in effect:
It has been a very hot, dry summer, and although we got some rain recently, it was not enough for the Department of Natural Resources to rescind the ban on burning, and campfires are OK only in approved campfire rings - this means our established camp fire rings on campus are OK.  We will also be able to light our camp with our torches at night. Fires will not be allowed outside of the main camp or in the treed areas.   Wood stoves in tents for heat are acceptable with a tall pipe and/or spark arrestor.

Weather:
We have settled into a glorious, albeit dry, fall weather pattern with daytime temps in the 60s and nighttime temps in the 40s.  We have a chance of rain this Monday, Sept 27th and we are hopeful for a significant amount. The weather here is always subject to change, so be prepared for anything.

Brush Clearing for Campsites:
We are still new to this land, and it has not been cared for in many years before we arrived.  The underbrush is thick in some areas and the trees have lots of low branches.  We encourage campers to judiciously trim, prune, and groom their campsites as needed if they have not been groomed already.  Please care for the trees and shrubs as you would a garden or a park.  Bring some tools with you to cut weeds and clear some ground to make your campsites comfortable.  We have a limited number of pruning tools, and some shovels and rakes at the office that you may borrow if needed.

Details:

Arrival:
As you follow the signs through the School property, through the school gate, and up the hill, you will turn left into the Bridges to the Past Campus. To help with logistics and to minimize congestion, please park in upper or lower Fall Camp parking and walk-in to find where you will be headed to unload and set camp. We should have someone near the parking lot who can help you find the direction you would like to go.

Camping Options:
RV's and campers have 3 different roads/areas open, and tent campers have the main meadow for camping opportunities. Cars will not be able to remain in the main camp during Fall Camp. If you need to camp with your car next to you, please camp in one of the RV/Camper locations. Please be considerate and use a site appropriate for your camper/RV/Vehicle size. Do not occupy an entire RV spot for one vehicle. We have very limited space for large RV’s - this is a work in progress. If you are bringing an RV please let us know the size when you register so we can reserve a space for you. If you show up with a large RV or bus without letting us know beforehand we cannot guarantee that there will be space for you.

Parking:
We have a large area near the entrance to the land to park vehicles. It is signed. Please be considerate of others when parking, and if you need to come and go don't block anyone in. Please drive very slowly in the parking areas, the dirt work is very new and there are possible hazards.

Water and Toilets:
We will have potable water on site for your drinking and cooking needs. You will need a container to carry it. Porta Potties are provided for your bathroom needs. Please keep them clean and be considerate of others. There are no showers or running water on site, and sadly, this property does not have a creek or pond.
